Areas of Practice:
Brian E. Hammell is the Director of Cushing and Dolan's Corporate Department. His practice concentrates in business law, employment law, commercial litigation, shareholder agreements, and business reorganizations. He is experienced in areas of business litigation, debtor and creditor rights, secured lending, mergers and acquisitions, and other commercial transactions and disputes.
Mr. Hammell has achieved numerous successful results for his clients, including:
- Representing major regional corporations, in diverse industries including metal finishing, produce, construction, plumbing supplies, funeral homes, and automobile sales, in multi-million dollar acquisitions
- Implementing thorough business succession plans for closely held businesses
- Representing an energy reinsurance company in a complex IRC 368 reorganization
- Actively advising and negotiating on behalf of landlords and tenants in commercial leasing settings
- Advising clients with complex LLC planning
- Providing counsel to professionals, including physicians, attorneys, accountants, and financial planners on matters pertaining to entity organization and professional separation
- Successfully obtaining a significant mediated settlement in wrongful death dispute involving intricate choice of law issues
